LT(SG) Randee Jane Moody, RMN-6120-19 is specifically mentioned in these dispatches for her numerous efforts undertaken for the organization. Upon joining TRMN she almost immediately created a discord server for enlisted and NCO’s, which quickly became ‘official’. Her recruiting efforts nearly doubled the size of this chapter, and then promptly started another – growing TRMN in the best tradition possible. Further, she was quickly recognized for her extreme test taking and ‘lead from the front’ attitude for all the above – that she was selected to be the Staff Intelligence Officer for BuPlan. From spacer 3rd to staff SIO and future chapter CO in less than two months – it would be easy to write a much higher level award – however, I know that soon to be Captain Moody holds a special place in her heart for the “Mentioned and Dispatches” and so it is my honor to so mentioned her here.

In effort to bring the ship into compliance with revised Naval Directive 15-SE-02 (revised 30Sept2016) and other applicable orders, the Command triad (CO, XO and Bosun) will convene on or about the first Wednesday of each and every month to conduct a promotions review.
Any members E-1 through E-6 WILL be promoted if they meet the testing and time in grade requirements for the next rank. Only those currently working in a billet, either on the ship or elsewhere in service to the Grand Alliance, will be considered for any early promotions in respect to time in grade.
Any members E-6 – E-9 WILL be submitted to the Senior Enlisted Board for the next grade provided they meet testing and time in grade requirements as well as hold a suitable billet, either on the ship or elsewhere in service to the Grand Alliance.
Any member who has fulfilled the required time in grade and course ware for O-1, will be interviewed by the CO, and upon commissioning to O-1, be appointed to a division within the ship.
Any member O-1 through O-5 WILL be submitted to the Officer Promotion Board for the next grade provided they meet testing and time in grade requirements as well as hold a suitable billet, either on the ship or elsewhere in service to the Grand Alliance.
Cadets will be promoted, in accordance with relevant Admiralty Orders and based on age:
5 – 8 years old = C-1 Cadet Ranger One
9 – 12 years old = C-2 Cadet Ranger Two
13 – 15 years old = C-3 Cadet Ranger Three
16 years old = Option to promote to C-4 Senior Cadet Ranger OR enroll in a Service Academy and become a Midshipman
18 years old = Eligible for full enlisted or officer ranks, depending on testing completion
This order supersedes and replaces both GNS Barbara Bancroft Ship’s Order’s 1211.2-01 and 1605.19-01.

Well folks, it was close – both in getting the needed vote in, and for awhile on what our motto would be!
But I am pleased to announce it was decided, it was decided pretty conclusively, and (drum roll here) –
The Motto of the GNS Barbara Bancroft is:
“First for the Tester, Sword, Protector.” – as submitted by former CO, Keith Manly. This seems somehow fitting to me, and it was a clear victor with 6 of the 16 votes (the other 10 votes were spread around pretty well).
So we have great submissions, and we have a clear winner and now we can put this little motto on everything!

Late last night I sent out two emails regarding the new billets, and inviting people to volunteer for them. By the time I sat down at the computer today, I had two volunteers for the most needed posts. That fact alone, right there, kinda made my day.
Thus, the following are hereby appointed to staff:
CPO Roon Marchant – Records Division Chief under the Admin Department
Sp 2/C Patrick St. Jean – Yeoman under the Admin Department
Now I have a functional admin department! Thank you gentlemen for your quick act to volunteer, and I look forward to working with you!

Please congratulate the following on their new assignments within the ship!
ENS Larry Widing as Communication Officer – now running/growing/establishing the entire communications department!
CPO Steve Sardeson – Now the EW Division Chief – which is under the Tactical Department. He will be coordinating all gaming on the ship!

Last week the XO, Bosun and I managed to finally sit down and go over the promotion eligibility of the entire crew. Moving forward, these promotion boards will happen quarterly, with the effective ranks taking place on the first of the quarter (for those I have the authority to promote).
So, with all that said, it is my absolute pleasure to announce the following promotions:

GNS Barbara Bancroft Ship’s Order 1211.2-01 (02 November 2012)
PROMOTION POLICIES
In addition to the Promotion Policies outlined in the Admiralty Orders the following policies will apply to GNS Barbara Bancroft. All promotions will be considered by a board consisting of the Commanding Officer, the Executive Officer and the Ship’s Bosun. The ship’s Training Officer will serve as an alternate board member and provide the board with recommendations and verification that all needed requirements for promotion to the next rank are met.
